Yet again...despite that all parties involved are not identified, we are left with a "news report" which clarifies nothing, where it comes to the question of what this guy is even being accused of having done.
Whatever it is...it's all hidden behind the explanation, that the father interpreted it to be "sexual molestation"...Apparently, there was no witness other than the two men [one now dead] and the child.
Also, according to one of the news reports, this father intervened and stopped whatever it is he thought was going on, by charging in with this violent assault...actually stopping the situation, by beating the guy in the head, relentlessly...[Which also means, he beat a guy to death in front of his own, watching child]...
Conveniently, the man killed can no longer speak for himself, or clear up any possible misunderstandings.
Did this guy act in an incredibly foolish manner, and take advantage of a situation when he should have known better [if so, I think that's very sleazy]?...or did the father subjectively decide he "must be seeing an assault on his child", and run with it?
It seems to me, this father can now just stand there, and dictate whatever he pleases...If he did not have anything concrete on which to base his abrupt judgement [and based upon the "report", how would anyone know?], it wont even matter. Sounds like it is his version, and his alone...This opens the door to complete deniability, even if the entire incident was result of his own mistake.
I don't have a whole lot of sympathy, for these so called "rage defense" cases...
He punched the guy in his head once, and what?...Did this not end, whatever contact was going on between the other man, and his child?...Did a second punch to the head, still not bring it to an end?...Wasn't the third, getting to a point of clear excess?...and how many more unnecessary punches followed?...
At some point [and likely not very far into it], this father was clearly intentioned on dealing great bodily harm, irregardless of whether he intended to murder [and yes, by any sane definition, this should be identified as murder]...But, Texas has some peculiar laws, as to what you can do to someone who is in your home, should you "feel threatened" by them...and some Texans like to push the envelope, well beyond any reasonable limit, when it comes to this law.
I just have to ask, how "threatened" this father still felt, after the guy he murdered, was still standing/setting/lying there, repeatedly taking blows to the head, even after the second or third blow...
With regards to the guy being accused of "sexual assault", I'm not going to say anything regarding guilt or innocence of the charge...
...But, speaking to such a set of claimed circumstances...I think it would be extremely ill advised [and utterly stupid], for anyone to enter another person's house, and try to sexually involve themselves with a child they don't even know. A person who attempts that stunt, is just begging for "The Darwin Award".
Are there people in this world willing to do that?...Oh, I'm sure there are...But this is so far beyond the pale, I'd be more inclined to lean towards thinking some misunderstanding occurred [was his daughter simply setting on the guys lap, when he approached from a certain angle?], than to think someone was crazy enough to believe, they'd get away with "that".
Some character references for the accused/murdered, would be fitting.
As a side note...I think media outlets have been actively highlighting these kinds of cases, to desensitise people to the physical assault/murder of "pedophiles"...even to promote it.
Maybe I am wrong...but I've noticed, they rarely have much problem with the parade of ultra sick comments, that get left in the comments sections of these kinds of stories.
These stories seem more like pieces of raw meat, thrown to the masses, in order to stir up some sort of...
