Linguistic semantics. To the average religious person like I described earlier... they will see a "pre-programmed gay" or a potentially indisputable "God made gay." A boy that acts like and wants to be a girl. A girl that will likely later grow up to desire companionship and sex with males because of his or her childhood (God given) predisposition.

That... or convince themselves and others, that the parents must be at fault and are manipulating the kid and there is something evil afoot.

Like I said, religion is unbending because "God can't be wrong..." So attack the family because "that must be where the fault is!"

I was raised in a Christian home. Perhaps that has me biased... maybe so... but I think I know how they think.
