Don't tell

I haven't read the other replies but I'm certain most of them are telling you not to tell your shrink. In my experiences I've learned that the less people know about your sexual orientation the better. Would you care to tell us why you are entertaining the idea of telling him? My advice is to clam up.

Are you sure you even need a psychiatrist?
