Does all of this mean what I think it means?

I bought a new gizmo and was bragging about it to my YF

"This thing is great, it's like my new best friend now" I said in a bragging way

Instead of making a comment about the gizmo as expected, he started to pretend to cry as if HE was my best friend was being replaced OMG

"Oh, don't worry, you're number 1 for me" I said

At which point he smiled and cutely said "yay!"

So...does this mean what I think it means?! That he sees me as his best friend?! I mean...it's a joke, right? He can't TRULY see me like that....can he?!

Then a few weeks ago I was not having a good day and was tired and stressed out; he noticed.

"Do you need a hug?" he asked spreading his arms out.

That hug was the best. OMG this is the boy who NEVER wanted to hug OFFERING me a hug to make me feel better. What a total sweetie pie! And then on the same day he AGAIN told me he loved me, albeit in a joking way. It was a "don't worry I love you" comment about something or other. That is the 2nd time he has said those words to me and both times were semi-joking....but IS IT TRUE?! IT MUST BE!!! HE LOVES ME!!!!!!!!
