...that some people actually read new posts that show up that far down. Whenever I post anything past the middle of the index, I wonder if anyone will read it except maybe the person I'm responding to. It seems that most people figure that once they've seen the thread already and it has scrolled out of immediate sight, nothing worthwhile is likely to show up in it, and it's not worth re-visiting.

Anyway, in case anyone is interested, I just posted a new installment in that farce. This one won't do much to dispel the notion that nothing worthwhile is likely to be added far down in the index, but I assure you that in other cases it's worth checking for new posts in threads that have been around for a few days.
