In reply to psychiatry... posted by Jsmithcooper on 2011-March-3 15:23:08, Thursday

Clinical (as opposed to experimental) psychologists do *not* use mathematics (the main tool of the scientific method) as their method to understanding of the world. Psychiatrists are psychologists who have earned a medical degree. Therefore, it is obvious that some, or maybe many, psychiatrists can not be trusted. Is that not true?

Psychologists and psychiatrists diagnose diseases, then treat the diseases that they have diagnosed, relying on their own subjective interpretations for diagnosis, and then the subjective responses of those they have treated for efficacy of the "cures". There is little, or any, objectivity (science) in the process.

I think too many people mistakenly place their trust in people who are, in effect, charlatans. And great damage is done to them.

Oh, and the few paranoid schizophrenics I have known found no solace in numbers...

BTW - The project we discussed before? You suggested waiting...
