I mean really, how does someone not living in a non-English speaking third-world type country even MEET a boy these days? Are boys even allowed to leave their parents' side until they're 16 anymore? Wow. Setting aside the silly idea that English-speaking "third-world type" countries are places where you can't met boys, you got to scratch the surface of this long complaint. Connor doesn't say this, but strongly implies this: that the material comforts of living in the rich West are more important to him than intimacy with boys. Connor likes his flat-screen, bandwidth, SUV, iPhone, and McDonalds so much that he's willing to give up any access to boys for them. That's fine. But he makes sound like it's such a sacrifice, when apparently he has the option of passport and a ticket-- an option so many other people suffering so much more political oppression are denied. |
