I think you've summed it up brilliantly: MJ could have done a lot more than he did with the resources he had. But perhaps he had the same caution that most of us do.

Even if I had the resources, I might not take the step that involves giving up my anonymity and then letting the world know that I have a desire for sex with boys. Notice that I said desire and let's face it, I think we all have it. Most of us don't act on that desire, but we all have it to some degree. It forms the foundation of our love. Sexual love drives romantic love and romantic love forms the basis of the most enduring love among unrelated humans.

So, I admit that I might (the key word being might) not take the crucial step to make a bold statement to the world that I was a BL and I had some important arguments to make. Can you honestly say that you would, in all certainty? If so, I applaud you!
