No argument there. Michael Jackson had issues beyond imagining, and BL was just one of many. I have no problem with BC putting up a banner to mourn the tragedy that was MJ's life. His life was archetypically tragic. I suspect that most of us here at BC are much more emotionally stable than MJ was, especially in the latter part of his life.

It's just that I'm not comfortable hero-worshiping another really fucked up human being. I suspect he lied to himself constantly. He spent more than his last penny trying to sustain an unsustainable illusion. I wonder what he really saw when he looked in the mirror at that horrid apparition... imagine what that artificial face would have looked like at 70! Yikes!

I prefer to remember MJ as that cute, talented little brown boy and young man, not the clown-white, Halloween-circus freak he created with his millions.

Sure, I'll support BC recognition of another self-destructing boylover, I just don't want to glorify or emulate him... EVER.
