as I said in a further subthread below, I'm not judging him. How could I? But just once I would like to see a filthy rich boylover use his/her wealth to do great, unconventional things.

No, Michael was messed up on many fronts:

1. He didn't want to be black
2. He didn't want to grow old
3. He was a serious prescription drug abuser (possibly what killed him)
4. He liked little blond boys, and REALLY pushed the publicly-acceptable envelope, with all the stress and potential prison time that implied.
5. His glory days were behind him and he knew it.
6. He was a recluse and a freak.

He was too fucked up to behave other than he did.
