Hello All!

Well, since we all seem to be discussing Tom Daley these days I thought I would contribute my two cents worth regarding boy muscles. In Tom's case I think that as an Olympian he has probably had extensive training and gym time. I see him not as a "boy" but as a young man, since he has clearly passed the early stages of puberty.

IMHO, he is a bit unnaturally muscled for a boy of his age. I have noticed a growing trend in Western Society lately to revere well defined muscles in peoples' bodies in general. The profoundest changes occurring in the expectations of boys/young men about how their bodies "should" look. Like Anacreon, I prefer the attributes of the early adolescent traditionally associated with that age; long slender legs, an absence of body hair (except the places one expects post puberty) a V-shaped torso tapering down to a narrow waist and lean but not strictly defined muscle groups.

Don't think that the press and those in charge of Olympic publicity don't feature these finely chiseled bodies deliberatley. We all like to look at them, regardless of where our sexuality falls on the spectrum. Athletic excellence makes for good business these days.
