Pure projection. Time after time after time BC's unofficial Official Open Mind engages with other people's opinions and ideas, often encouraging them to expand even on points of disagreement in an attempt to find common ground. Good listeners stay open minded, even in topics where they are inclined to disagree. On the other hand, stubbornly refusing to engage with what your "debate opponent" came to say is one of your sealioning patterns. monkey's pattern person A: I like vanilla ice cream!!! monkey: hoot hoot screeech!!! (slings a turd) person A: ewww monkey: see, you got nothing Time and time and time and time again monkey has followed the above pattern, so who is he to suggest that we taste each other's ice cream? He shows absolutely zero interest in finding more about the other person's thought process or why they reached their conclusion. He just starts hooting idiotically. When it comes to talking to monkey the only rational response is to either use responding to him to make a broader point for the greater audience or else to dismiss his irrelevant points and focus on talking to the people who are conversing in good faith. Can we get a rere? ![]() |
