I think your personal pledge is a great idea but Youtube $25 for 1000 views, that is theorical Hulann, do not rely on those numbers until you see it happening, there are many factors at play like people using adblockers, anonymous IP that lower pay out and visitor country, Indian views are not paid as much as US views. I have seen mentioned earnings of $1 for 1000 views too. A long time ago there was a thread here where I already proposed Boychat gave donators sig avatars or something next to their nick recognising that the poster is a donator as trolls and antis are not too likely to donate and the badge makes poster credibility higher, other possibilities are selling advertising space in boychat, I know that Adidas and Pepsi are not going to advertise here but maybe a small MAP blogger or project would want to do that as a way to support BoyChat and target the right demographics, they could also charge universities for posting here their research survey links which they currently do for free, and they arenīt going to pay because it would be an outrage in the press but why should get to use BoyChat services for free for paedophile research which results are going to be used against paedophiles. About the meter, I donīt have a problem with it my problem, raised already in a thread here over a year ago by various people is that the expenses are not broken by parts- I would rather they said the server costs X money, the software costs X and etc costs X instead of a lump sump target, nothing was done about this. They could also make a list of donors lie girlchat used to do, a page with a list of donors posted or it can be anonymous if they want. It saddens me seeing donations at zero in the mid 2025 already, knowing that it is not only boychat, which I rarely use, but they also maintain BoyWiki and other sites which cost adds up in domain fees but perhaps listen to donors ideas too and implement if not all at least a few of them, the donation system has not changed for a long time and if donations are not coming in perhaps it is a sign that something else should be tried and the ideas do not require a great effort from staff, something else I think the donations page too is not visible enough on the front page. But all of the stuff I mention above, it was mentioned around two years ago in a similar thread, nothing changed. ![]() |
