If you'd stop day drinking for five minutes and actually read the linked thread, you might learn something and hopefully stop posting misinformation. You said that the cogs used to be able to read the IP addresses, but that's not exactly true. Remember tpka "littlexs?" He explained it clearly a few posts down in that thread:

"Only MElf and his security team (if they exist)...have any access to the "logs" or posters' IP addies.
Cogs can only see limited info about the posters. This is done deliberately, so as to restrict the number of folks who have access to sensitive poster info and other info."
